The Importance of Getting Your Zzzz’s – Study Says Sleep Disorder Could be\u00a0Sign of Alzheimer’s Disease<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We’ve been told that poor sleep interrupts the natural process of our brains to eliminate waste and calibrate memory but now scientists believe\u00a0that poor sleep could\u00a0be a risk factor for Alzheimer’s.\u00a0Two new studies have\u00a0looked at the levels of beta amyloid and tau protein\u00a0in\u00a0cerebrospinal fluid and whether poor sleep leads to higher levels\u00a0– both said yes.\u00a0The first concluded\u00a0that\u00a0higher risk people with the apoE4 gene or a parent with Alzheimer’s\u00a0who reported a history of bad sleep, had more of the biomarkers for the disease. The second\u00a0found the same thing in healthy\u00a0middle-aged adults after interrupting their sleep for just one night.<\/p>\n
